Currently, Layer only supports Excel files as a data source. As a spreadsheet owner, you can only upload Excel files to Layer.
Soon, you will also be able to connect and keep your Google Sheets spreadsheets in sync with Layer as well.
When spreadsheet owners are sharing spreadsheets Flows with their contributors, they can share the files in 3 formats:
Excel: Contributors will receive an email with a link to download an Excel file.
Google Sheets: Contributors will receive a Google Sheets link.
Layer Sheets: Layer Sheets is Layer's very own built-in web interface. It is the easiest and fastest way to share data. Contributors will receive an email with a Layer Sheets link.
When contributors are submitting data to their shared Flows, they can share the files in 3 ways, depending on the format shared with them by the spreadsheet owner:
Excel: Contributors can submit their updated Excel file by attaching it to the email as a reply.
Google Sheets: Contributors can make their changes through Google Sheets.
Layer Sheets: Contributors can edit and submit their changes directly within the browser.
