Connecting Bob to Layer allows you to stay on top of your HR management and sync your latest employee data with your Google Sheets.

How to connect the HiBob integration?

To start using the Bob integration, you'll first need to connect it to Layer:

  1. Open your Google Sheet and launch the Layer add-on.

  2. Navigate to the "Integrations" tab.

  3. Locate the Bob integration and click the "Connect" button next to it.

  4. You will be redirected to the integration connection page. Toggle the switch.

  5. To access Bob's API, you will need to generate an API token for your user. To do that, head to Bob, click your profile picture, and select "API access". Then, click "Generate token".

  6. Copy the API key and paste it in the corresponding field. Then, click "Save".

  7. You will receive a message indicating that the connection is ready and be redirected back to Google Sheets and Layer.

Note: Your API token has the same access levels as your Bob user, so for example, if you're an administrator your token will have full access to all APIs, care should be taken. For that reason, API tokens are personal and shouldn't be passed out indiscriminately.

How to import HiBob data into Google Sheets?

Once you've connected the Bob integration, you can start using it to easily import your payroll and employee data into Google Sheets. All you have to do is:

  1. Navigate to the "Integrations" tab.

  2. Click the "Import Data" button shown below the Bob integration.

  3. Select "Payroll" and click "Import". This will create a new sheet with your Bob data.
